ShiAnn: Aligner Delivery: 29 through 31

ShiAnnTreatment date: 10-23-2008

We are getting near the end of the initial set of aligners and things are progressing nicely for ShiAnn. She learned to get the upper aligners in and out easily and noted that the aligners were much more retentive without the pontic teeth present.

ShiAnn: Aligner Delivery: 28

ShiAnnTreatment date: 9-11-2008

ShiAnn called the office and sounded a little uneasy because she could not get her next scheduled aligner to fit. We asked her to come in for an emergency (eeks!) visit to determine the cause of her problem. My initial concern was that one of the central incisors had not fully fit in the aligner and was being pushed way off track.

Shiann: Aligner Delivery 24 through 27

ShiAnnTreatment date: 7-23-2008

ShiAnn had been wearing aligner 23 for three weeks when she came in for her appointment. The fit of the aligners was essentially the same as it has been for the past 2-3 visits, with nothing remarkable other than the slight uneven incisal edges of the upper anterior teeth.
The contacts were checked and found to be tight around both cuspids. This is not unexpected since we had done scheduled IPR in February and we routinely do somewhat less than the total amount of IPR that is requested.

ShiAnn: Aligner Delivery: 19 through 23

ShiAnnTreatment date: 4-10-2008

ShiAnn showed up all smiles again today. She is currently wearing aligner 16 of 35, and she reports all is well. She continues to make her own pontic teeth for each set of aligners and is not having any issues. She is particularly happy because she observes that the overjet is almost normal. She stated, "My front teeth are almost touching my bottom teeth."

ShiAnn: Aligner Delivery: 16 through 18

ShiAnnTreatment date: 2-21-08

ShiAnn’s appointment was right on schedule and she is wearing the aligners as directed. As usual, photos were taken to record the progress of treatment. The upper lateral spaces are closing and the aligners are fitting securely. The central incisors show no signs of mobility. IPR was performed in the lower arch.

ShiAnn: Aligner Delivery: 12 through 15

ShiAnnTreatment date: 1-17-08

ShiAnn was seen today for her scheduled visit. She has one week remaining with aligner 11 in both the upper and lower arch. She did not have any questions or concerns and is wearing her aligners as directed. The fact that she reported that she had one week left to wear aligner 11 indicated that she is "making up" for days missed before she progressed to the next set of aligners.

ShiAnn: Initial ClinCheck Evaluation

ShiAnn

The treatment plan was very straight–forward — remove the upper right lateral incisor and close the spaces. The initial ClinCheck resolved the overjet and closed the extraction spaces. IPR was shown on the lower arch to allow all the upper space to close. IPR was done in six different locations, at five different aligner stages. Attachments were placed according to the defaults in the Best Practices Protocol.
