Patient's Chief Concern
The patient was concerned with his periodontal issues and described his concern as "my gums are a mess!"

Diagnostic Summary

Periodontal defects
Changes around the gingival tissue of all mandibular anterior incisors and canines, as well as, maxillary left incisors and canine
The gingival tissue surrounding the mandibular anterior incisors and canines also has a complete lack of form, shape, architecture and health

Treatment

Treatment Summary

2-4 scalings and hygiene instruction sessions were planned. Goals were accomplished in two hygiene appointments with a 1 month follow up between each to establish patient compliance
Invisalign treatment was planned to position the teeth properly
Patient was told a gingival graft repair for the lower left lateral incisor was highly likley post Invislaign treatment
The gingival issue remodeled completely with orthodontic alignment alone. There was no need to perform any periodontal grafting, surgery, electro surgery laser, etc. in order to achieve the results displayed in the post-op photographs

Many doctors and patients have seen and experienced the oral health benefits that tooth alignment with Invisalign treatment can offer. In this case, it was almost inconceivable that a trip to the periodontist post orthodontic treatment would not be necessary. Both patient and doctor were excited to see such improvement in oral health with pre-treatment hygiene appointments and instructions followed by orthodontic alignment with Invisalign.
