Full Arch ImpressionsResources to help you get the best results, whether you use PVS material or digital scans

Due to the precise nature of Invisalign's treatment and manufacturing process, full arch impressions are required. You have two options for taking impressions for Invisalign treatment:
  • Digital impressions with the iTero/iOC scanner
  • PVS impressions

About Digital Impressions with the iTero/iOC scanner

Choosing digital impressions with the iTero/iOC scanner has many potential benefits over traditional PVS impressions including:
  • Better patient experience
  • Reduced ClinCheck Treatment Plan turnaround time
  • Better fitting aligners**
  • Reduced consumable costs
  • Virtually eliminating rejected impressions

About PVS Impressions

Impressions must be taken using PVS material. Any other materials, such as polyethers (Impregum) or alginates (Jeltrate), are currently not acceptable. These PVS impressions will later be scanned and transformed into detailed 3-D computer images that will be the basis for treatment planning as part of the Invisalign process. It is therefore crucial that this important record-taking step is done carefully.
