Diagnosis

Patient's Chief Concern
The patient was hoping that Invisalign would be an option for her because she liked that it was less noticeable than braces. She also felt Invisalign would be less labor intensive to keep her teeth clean while in orthodontic treatment.

Diagnostic Summary
  • 25% Class II molar relationship - Right
  • Class I molar relationship - Left
  • Excessive lingual tipping of the Mandibular molars
  • Overjet +4mm    Overbite 80-90%
  • Mandibular crowding 6-9mm and Maxillary crowding 3-6mm
  • Posterior cross bite tendency - Right
  • Maxillary right cuspid and left cuspid are blocked-out labially as well as the lower right cuspid
  • Slightly retrusive maxilla
  • Incompatible Maxillary and Mandibular arch forms

Treatment

Treatment Summary
  • Extracted mandibular right lateral incisor
  • Established ideal Overjet and Overbite
  • Aligned and co-ordinate arches
  • Utilized conservative interproximal reduction to gain space
Post Invisalign Treatment
  • Minor anterior incisal recontouring

Treatment Tip

Patients naturally are concerned about esthetics during their treatment, especially for extraction cases. Invisalign offers a pontic kit that is a great solution to this issue as the extraction site closes. Click here to learn more on placing pontics.
